Looking forward

Hello again everyone, I hope you’ve all had a good week. Is it just me or does time seem to be flying past rather quickly these days… I mean we’re already halfway through February! I know I’ve probably said this before, but when they say your time at university flies by, they weren’t lying. I hope you all had a good Valentine’s Day as well, whether you were single, or in a relationship. The day itself wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be, I went in for my lectures as normal, and then in the evening me and my flatmates (the ones who were single) ordered Chinese food, watched a scary film, and just had a fun night, we all forgot that it was Valentine’s Day from all the fun we were having…

Enough about Valentine’s Day, once again it has been quite a busy few weeks for me. I’ve still been applying for work placements, which are driving me mad, and psychometric tests are my new hatred in life. For those of you who don’t know, psychometric tests are evil creations used by organisations to test people’s suitability for the role. For a few of the places I have applied for, I was unsuccessful because the questions were just too confusing. For one organisation, one part of the test was to find the next number in the sequence, which is something I am usually quite good at, and in the practice questions, I had no problem with them, but as soon as it came to the actual timed test, I was completely lost. I think the thing that I found so frustrating is the questions in some of the tests were things I would never have to do in the role I was applying for.

At least it hasn’t been all doom and gloom this week, I have a trip to Amsterdam to look forward to, along with various other things that I have planned in the upcoming months. I shall keep you up to date with them as they come along. In the meantime, I have several assignments that I can be getting on with (at least it’s not eight all at once like it was in the first term), and some more applications that I can be completing.

I hope you’re all working hard and are all ok, until next time!
